About Hebei University

Hebei Medical University (abbreviated as HMU), formerly known as the Beiyang Medical School, is one of the high ranking universities in Hebei Province. Founded by the Governor Li Hongzhang in Tianjin in 1894, Hebei Medical University was the very first western medical school established by the government. One year after the Revolution of 1911, in October of 1912, the government of the Republic of China issued the No.16 and No. 25 order, which changed the university’s name from Beiyang Medical School to Zhili Public Medical College. And the College began to enroll undergraduates in the same year. Three years later, the college moved from Tianjin to Baoding in 1915. On July 7th 1937, with the outburst of the full-scale invasion from Japan, China became the main battlefield of the Second World War in East Asia.

The College was forced to be closed due to the war. The College re-opened and re-admitted students again in January 1946. In April 1949, the college was renamed Hebei Medical College. In 1958, the college moved from Baoding to Shijiazhuang. In 1995, Hebei Medical College, Hebei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Junior Medical College of Shijiazhuang merged into one school, which was named Hebei Medical University.

In 2013, Hebei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine became an stand-alone institution again. In 2016, HMU got endorsed by the Ministry of Education, National Health and Family Planning Commission, and Hebei Province for joint support. During the 13th 5-Year Plan period, HMU set the goal as “To become a high-level medical university with a distinctive feature”.

In the past 120 years and especially through over 30 years of development after China’s reform and opening up to the outside world, adhering to the tradition “respect virtues and profession, and be rigorous and creative”, Hebei Medical University has become a comprehensive medical university, encompassing teaching, research and healthcare services. In 2005, HMU came up with the new motto “Benevolence, Erudition, Integrity, and Flexibility”. In 2015, "Student centered, teacher first’ was also set as the university’s educational rationale. Up to now, HMU has two campuses, and five affiliated hospitals, with 14 colleges and 18 undergraduate majors. There are four national-level characteristic courses and four provincial-level characteristic courses. The total number of enrolled students at HMU is currently 11807.

HMU has four post-doctoral programs covering Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Medicine, Integration of TCM and Western Medicine, and Biology. It has 37 doctoral programs and 52 masters programs. There is a complete medical education system covering the training of bachelors, masters, PhD and post-doctors. Hebei Province was formerly known as Zhili Province during the Republic of China era.

In recent years, HMU has been strengthening its international exchanges and cooperation, which is an important platform for academic and cultural exchanges of Hebei Province. It has successively established close cooperative relationship with 27 medical schools and research institutes in 12 countries, such as Japan, South Korea, the United States, Belgium, and France. Over a hundred international experts have been conferred honorary titles of the university, and there are 446 international students on campus. In addition, the university adheres to the principle that it should serve the local community, and provide intellectual support to the local government and enterprises. HMU has successively signed 43 cooperative agreements with a number of enterprises and institutions, covering such aspects as education, research, and social services.

About Kunming Medical University

Kunming Medical University（KMU, formerly known as Kunming Medical College）was founded in 1933 and has since established itself as the largest specialized medical university of higher medical education, scientific research and medical service in Yunnan, P. About Nanjing Medical University

Nanjing Medical University (NMU), founded in 1934, is one of the top institutions of higher learning in China. As the name suggests, NMU is located in Nanjing, one of the four ancient Chinese capitals, a city which was a cultural, political and economical center in southern China and is currently the capital of Jiangsu province and an economical center in the Yangtze River Delta. School Facilities

NMU comprises two campuses: Wutai campus and Jiangning campus. The former, about 80,000 sq.m in size, only five minutes" walk away from downtown center Xinjiekou, is the center of research and graduate education. The latter, about 980, 000 sq.m in size, located in Jiangning University Town, is the center of undergraduate education. Subway and buses make its traffic very convenient. For the first three years, international students will study in Jiangning campus and then they transfer to Wutai campus to complete their study for another three years.

Library

The library of NMU, as a medical center of JALIS and an integral part of Engineering Documentation and Information Center of Jiangsu Province, is abundant in medical literature. Our library is also a member of Chinese Higher Medical and Pharmaceutical Libraries, the kernel library of Jiangsu Medicine and Pharmaceutical, center of Jiangsu Higher Medical Literature and the Class 1 Consultation Station for retrieving literature in Chinese academic journals. Each campus has one library. The one on Wutai campus has two communicated buildings, 9000 sq.m in size.

Jiangning library was put in use in 2007, 25,000 sq.m in size, with 3000 seating capacity. By the end of 2006, the libraries have altogether 5,700 paper journals and 40,000 digital journals either in Chinese or in foreign languages. Besides, there are more than 620,000 paper books and 610,000 e-books stored here. The books are mainly in the fields of basic medicine, clinical medicine, preventive medicine and pharmaceutics, and books in biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, computer science, management, social science and literature are also included.

Football fields, basketball courts, tennis courts and modern gymnasium are available to all students.

About Qingdao Medical University

Qingdao Medical University Set up in 1924, Qingdao University is a provincial research university in the Chinese eastern seaside. About Southeast Medical University

Southeast University (SEU)"is one of the national key universities administered directly under the Ministry of Education of China. About Xinjiang Medical University

Founded in 1924, Xinjiang University (XJU) is the oldest university in Xinjiang, with a wide range of academic disciplines offered at the university. Xinjiang University is recognized nationally as a comprehensive university and is one of the national "211 Project" universities (a system of accreditation for universities) in China. In 2000, XJU was listed as a comprehensive university for further development in the Great West Project of China. In 2004, XJU became a university sponsored by both the MOE and the government of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. With preponderant subjects in regional studies, XJU was chosen as one of project universities of USCO in 2010. Academic Strength & Environment

About The University

Tianjin Medical University (TMU), founded in 1951, was the first medical university after the foundation of P. R. of China. It is one of the first universities to get the recognition of WHO and one of the 74 universities to acquire the approval by the Ministry of Education to accept overseas students.

TMU is also one of the 97 universities which are emphatically constructed by the National “211 Project”. TMU began to accept foreign students from 1960s. Nowadays, the University has over 1430 foreign students from 64 countries. The International School (IMS) of TMU is in charge of the recruitment, education and management of foreign students. Based on qualified teachers and favorable teaching facilities, the medical courses taught in English have been continued for nearly 20 years and welcome by the students coming from countries using English as official language. Some diplomats, presidents of medical council and reporters have visited TMU many times and speak highly of the environment and education of foreign students at our university.
